STATE CIRCUIT GUIDE · CALENDAR DATA SNAPSHOT SEPT 29, 2026

Ohio's gun show circuit splits in two: promoter shows that sell tickets at the door, and a large collector association that doesn't sell tickets to the public at all. This guide lays out what our calendar data (verified against official promoter schedules, snapshot of Sep 29, 2026) shows for Ohio, where that data runs thin, and what to check before you drive.

Ohio at a glance

  • 16 upcoming listings in our calendar, from October 2026 through December 2027: four cities, four venues, two promoters.
  • Pioneer carries the load. Ten of the 16 are the Stateline Gun Show at Votaw Farms Event Barn.
  • Every listing is a two-day show that opens on a Saturday.
  • $10 adult admission on every listing that published a price, against a $12 national median.
  • The OGCA runs big collector meetings that are closed to the public. A member has to bring you as a guest.
  • Permitless concealed carry has been Ohio law since June 13, 2022, but shows and property owners still set their own rules.

What our Ohio data covers, and what it misses

Our calendar data lists 16 upcoming Ohio shows. That is 4.1 percent of 394 upcoming listings nationwide, across 42 states. The 16 come down to four cities, four venues and two promoters: D&K Enterprises with ten listings and C&E Gun Shows with six. Our look at the states with the most gun shows puts that count in national context.

That is a thin file for a state this size. The calendar lists the schedules it could verify against a promoter's own published source, and Ohio has more events than it currently lists. When C&E's Ohio city pages for Dayton, Columbus and Hamilton were rechecked on Sep 29, 2026, together they showed 29 dates between October 2026 and December 2027. The snapshot carries six of them. And the Ohio Gun Collectors Association, whose meetings are members-and-guests only, is not in the snapshot at all.

Treat what follows as a verified core, not a complete map, and check the live gun show calendar and the promoter's own page before you commit a Saturday.

C&E listings admit children 12 and under free. Dates move: C&E's Hamilton page marks the Oct 31–Nov 1 show as a date change. Confirm every show on the live calendar and with the promoter before you drive.

Four cities, four venues, two promoters

The geography is lopsided: ten listings at one event barn in Williams County, six C&E shows split among three cities.

PioneerStateline Gun Show at Votaw Farms Event Barn, run by D&K Enterprises: 10 listings. The promoter's directions put it on County Road 13 just northwest of the village, north of Ohio Turnpike exit 13 via State Route 15.
DaytonMontgomery County Event Center, 645 Infirmary Road. C&E: 3 listings, one a month from October through December 2026.
HamiltonButler County Fairgrounds, 1715 Fairgrove Avenue. C&E: 2 listings, Oct 31–Nov 1 and Dec 12–13, 2026.
ColumbusOhio Expo Center, 717 E. 17th Avenue. C&E: 1 listing, Nov 28–29, 2026. The same address hosts OGCA meetings in Kasich Hall.

The Village of Pioneer places itself in Williams County, a short way below the Michigan line and about fifteen miles from the Indiana border. Out-of-state buyers should read the legal note below.

The rhythm: two days, Saturday starts, a winter-heavy season

All 16 listings are two-day shows that open on a Saturday. No Friday previews, no three-day formats.

By month, the snapshot is front-loaded: three listings a month from October through December 2026, one a month from January through April 2027, none from May through September, then one a month again from October 2027.

Part of that shape is real. Stateline's dates page runs October through April and lists nothing between April and October 2027, so the summer gap is the promoter's own season. Part is an artifact: the snapshot's C&E listings stop after December 2026, but C&E's own schedule does not. C&E's Dayton page alone listed 12 dates running through December 2027, June and August included.

Some weekends collide: Dayton and Stateline share Oct 17–18 and Dec 19–20, 2026, and Stateline shares Nov 21–22 with the OGCA meeting in Hamilton.

Admission, hours and the $10 door

All six listings with a published adult price are C&E shows, and all six say $10 for a single day. That is $2 under the $12 national median across the 156 listings in our calendar with a published adult price. The same six list children 12 and under free. None of the Ohio listings shows a military or veteran tier.

C&E's city pages add that “Saturday admission is good for Sunday with a handstamp.” C&E also posts a coupon you can show on your phone when you pay; read its terms first.

The six C&E listings open at 9 a.m. Saturday and close at 4 p.m. Sunday; C&E's pages give Saturday as 9 to 5. For the ten Stateline listings, admission and hours were not published in the official source checked.

Tip: Parking and pet policies are recorded as unknown for all 16 Ohio listings. Stateline's site posts its flyer as a PDF; check it or call about price and hours, and ask about parking while you're at it. Our what-to-bring checklist covers cash, bags and the rest.

The OGCA: Ohio's big collector meeting, by invitation

The Ohio Gun Collectors Association was founded in 1937 and says it has more than 16,000 members. Its homepage is plain about access: meetings, shows and events are closed to the public, and you attend as the guest of a current member. Its event pages say the same: members and invited guests.

At the time of writing, members receive guest pass registration forms before each meeting and can register and pay for guests through a members-only portal. A guest pass currently costs $15 for the weekend, and membership starts the same way: you attend a meeting or show as a member's guest before you can join.

The OGCA's events page and show listing give these upcoming meetings:

  • Nov 21–22, 2026: Hamilton, Spooky Nook at Champion Mill
  • Feb 13–14, 2027: Columbus, Kasich Hall at the Ohio Expo Center
  • Mar 20–21, 2027: Wellington, Ross Expo Center at the Lorain County Fairgrounds
  • May 22–23, 2027: Columbus, Kasich Hall
  • Aug 7–8, 2027: Hamilton, Spooky Nook at Champion Mill
  • Sep 18–19, 2027: Wellington, Ross Expo Center
  • Nov 20–21, 2027: Hamilton, Spooky Nook at Champion Mill

The event pages for November 2026, February 2027 and March 2027 give hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Collector association shows vs. commercial promoter shows

The two formats can share a building. The Ohio Expo Center hosts the OGCA meeting on Feb 13–14, 2027 and, per C&E's Columbus page, C&E's public show a week later on Feb 20–21.

The difference is who is in the room and why. OGCA's About page lists among its aims encouraging “educational displays and the study of historic and collectible firearms.” It says its meetings regularly feature 600 to 700 tables of “strictly gun-related material,” alongside exhibits, speakers, “Collector Club Invitationals,” book signings and an annual banquet. A commercial promoter sells a ticket at the door. C&E says it has run gun shows since 1986, lists shows in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the Carolinas, and sums up its pitch as “BUY! SELL! TRADE!”

For a general market on a free Saturday, the public show is the easy door. If you're chasing older pieces and the people who study them, the collector meeting is worth finding a member for. Either way, old guns deserve a slow look; our guide to estate tables explains what a lifetime collection looks like once it lands on folding tables.

Sixteen listings is not the Ohio circuit. It is the part of the Ohio circuit that put its dates in writing where they could be checked.

Bringing a gun to an Ohio show: the law and the door

Ohio's Senate Bill 215 took effect June 13, 2022. Under it, a “qualifying adult,” someone 21 or older who is not barred from possessing firearms under state or federal law and meets the statute's other criteria, can carry a concealed handgun without a license wherever a licensee could (ORC 2923.111). The Ohio Attorney General's concealed carry manual notes that a license still matters if you carry in states that honor Ohio's license.

The limits did not go away. ORC 2923.126 still lists places where concealed carry is off-limits, including police stations, courthouses, school safety zones and certain government buildings, and it lets the owner or person in control of private land or premises post a sign prohibiting firearms. If a licensee is stopped for a law enforcement purpose while carrying, ORC 2923.12 requires disclosing the handgun no later than when the officer asks, and ORC 2923.111 holds a qualifying adult to the same restrictions as a licensee.

The show sets its own rules too, and a venue can add more. The C&E and Stateline pages checked for this guide don't spell out an entry policy, so ask the promoter before you bring anything in. Our sister guide on transporting firearms to gun shows covers the drive.

A table-side checklist for an Ohio show weekend

  1. Confirm the date on the promoter's own page the week of the show. C&E has already flagged a date change for Hamilton this fall.
  2. Know which door you are walking up to. A public show sells tickets; an OGCA meeting needs a member to register you in advance.
  3. Bring cash for the door, and keep the Saturday handstamp if you plan to return Sunday to a C&E show.
  4. Ask about entry rules for any firearm you bring before you reach the door, not at it.
  5. If you live out of state, ask the dealer how the transfer will work before you agree on a price.
  6. Inspect before you pay. Our used gun show buying guide walks through the table-side checks.
  7. Get the seller's name, a way to reach them, and a receipt from any dealer.

Buying new instead: what to look for online or at a dealer

If the gun or gear you want is still in production, price a new one from a dealer or online and compare total cost against total cost.

  • Match the exact model. Caliber, barrel length, finish, sights and the number of included magazines all move the price. Compare like for like.
  • Count the whole cost. A firearm bought online from an out-of-state seller transfers through a licensed dealer in your state of residence, per ATF, so add shipping and the transfer fee your receiving dealer charges.
  • Read the return terms. Check whether a firearm can be returned at all, who pays return shipping, and whether a restocking fee applies.
  • Check the warranty. Find out whether the maker requires registration and whether coverage passes to a second owner.
  • Know who carries the category. Independent gun shops, sporting goods chains, online retailers that ship to a local dealer, and manufacturers selling accessories direct each cover part of it.
  • For ammunition, check the seller's age verification process and whether it ships to your state.

The show still earns its place for used, discontinued and collectible pieces, where there may be no new one to compare against.

Common questions

How many gun shows are there in Ohio?

Our calendar lists 16 upcoming Ohio shows as of Sep 29, 2026, all verified against promoter schedules. Ohio has more events than that: C&E's own Ohio city pages showed 29 dates through December 2027, and the OGCA's members-and-guests meetings are not in the calendar.

How much does it cost to get into an Ohio gun show?

Every Ohio listing with a published price is $10 for adults, all at C&E shows, with children 12 and under free and a Saturday handstamp that gets you back in on Sunday. The national median in our calendar is $12.

Can the public attend Ohio Gun Collectors Association shows?

No. OGCA says its meetings, shows and events are closed to the public; you attend as a guest of a current member, and a guest pass currently costs $15 for the weekend.

What are the hours of Ohio gun shows?

C&E's Ohio shows run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. OGCA meetings run 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Stateline's hours were not published in the official source our calendar checked.

Do I need a permit to carry a concealed handgun in Ohio?

Since June 13, 2022, a qualifying adult, 21 or older and not prohibited from possessing firearms, can carry concealed without a license. Prohibited places still apply, private property owners can post no-firearms signs, and each show sets its own entry rules.

Where is the Stateline Gun Show?

At Votaw Farms Event Barn on County Road 13, just northwest of Pioneer, Ohio, in Williams County. The village lies a short way south of the Michigan line, about fifteen miles east of the Indiana border.
