This policy explains what gunshowschedules.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version: we collect an email address if you hand us one, we run privacy-respecting analytics on aggregate traffic, and we use affiliate links for lodging and gear. We do not sell personal information. We do not know who you are, and we are not trying to find out.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email address, if you subscribe to show alerts.
- Contact details and message content, if you email us or use the contact form.
- Show submission details, if you submit an event. Note that submitted listing information — venue, dates, promoter, table contact — is intended for publication.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, referring page, timestamp.
- Aggregate analytics: which pages get visited, from which regions, on which devices.
- Approximate location at the country or state level, used only to default the calendar to a sensible state.
What we never collect
We do not ask for and do not want your date of birth, your address, your firearm ownership status, your purchase history, or any information about what you do or intend to do at a show. We have no account system and no login.
How we use it
- To send show alerts, if you asked for them.
- To answer your message.
- To review and publish submitted listings.
- To understand which states and pages need more coverage.
- To keep the site up and defend it from abuse.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not run behavioural retargeting.
Subscribing is opt-in. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, which works immediately and permanently. We do not rent, sell, or share the list — a promoter who buys a newsletter placement buys a message to the segment; they never receive the addresses.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. The calendar will still work; it will just forget your filters.
Affiliate links and advertising
We earn revenue three ways, and you should know which is which:
- Affiliate links. Lodging near a venue, and gear in adjacent categories such as safes, hearing protection, range bags, and cases. If you book or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Featured listings and banners sold directly to promoters. These are labelled.
- Newsletter placements sold to promoters, sent by us.
None of this affects the calendar. Which shows appear and how the standard listings are ordered is not for sale.
Third-party services set their own cookies and operate under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Who we share with
We share personal information only with the vendors required to run the site — hosting, email delivery, analytics, form handling — and only as needed to do their job. We also disclose information where legally compelled by a valid legal process.
We do not sell personal information, under any definition of "sell" used in current U.S. state privacy law.
Retention
- Subscriber emails: until you unsubscribe, then purged.
- Contact messages: kept while the matter is open, then routinely cleared.
- Server logs: short rolling window for security and debugging.
- Published listing data: retained as an archival record of past events.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of it.
Email info@gunshowschedules.com and we will handle it. We do not require you to create an account to make a request, because there are no accounts.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and is statically generated, which means there is no user database to breach. No system is perfectly secure, but the amount of personal data we hold is deliberately close to zero — the best protection available is not collecting it.
Changes
Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
